Weekly Rehearsals
OOTB Chorus meets Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Thomas United Church in North Calgary for a two-hour fun and energetic rehearsal.
Rehearsals cover foundational vocal techniques in the songs we sing. We believe learning about our voices and how they work increases the enjoyment of singing and allows members to sing healthfully and sustainably. Elements of breathing and sound production are also covered, giving our members a foundation to build and grow their singing experience.
Member Resources
As a member of OOTB Chorus, you are provided sheet music and practice audio for our songs. These are provided as supplemental learning tools, and while there is no requirement to read music or have prior singing experience, our members learn to interact with sheet music in addition to learning by ear and repetition.
If you have musical experience or read music, fantastic! You will find our arrangements fun and also challenging.
Songs and Music
Our director, Tyler Fitzgerald, and other musicians and arrangers work with the OOTB Chorus to create unique arrangements of the songs we sing.
In the Fall Session 2025, get ready to be inspired as we’ll sing a diverse range of songs. From the timeless melodies of Bob Dylan and The Beatles to the energetic tunes of Carol King, we have something for everyone. We also sing a medley of Christmas classics, rounding out the broad spectrum of songs.
Gettin’ Social
Community and connection are highly valued in OOTB Chorus. Singing is the shared passion that keeps us all coming every week, anticipating what we can accomplish. Community is the glue that holds it all together.
We love to laugh, have a good time together as music lovers, and organize socials during the choir year.
If you have any ideas for community outreach, get in touch with our team!
