OOTB Concerts

Sharing Music, Building Community

Sharing music with others is at the heart of the Out of the Blue (OOTB) Chorus. We believe in the transformative power of music to connect, inspire, and bring people together. Our performances are more than concerts—they are opportunities to create moments of connection and joy, bridging gaps and building community through the universal language of music.

Joining Out of the Blue Chorus means becoming part of a community that values not only the music we create but also the relationships we nurture—within our choir and with the wider musical community. We are an inclusive, non-auditioned choir, welcoming singers of all experience levels. Whether you’ve been singing for years or are discovering choir for the first time, there’s a place for your voice here. Together, we share the joy of music-making, learning from one another, and celebrating the bonds that music creates.

Collaboration at Our Core

We believe every voice deserves to be heard and celebrated, and this philosophy begins in rehearsal—where each singer contributes not only to the sound of the choir but to the spirit of community we cultivate.

OOTB Chorus thrives on partnerships with other ensembles and arts organizations. Past concerts have brought together voices and choirs from across Calgary and beyond, including:

  • Central Memorial High School

  • Bishop Carroll High School

  • The Latin Community Choir

  • Blend Vocal Association

  • Calgary Youth Singers (Encore, ACT3)

  • Campus Choir from the University of Calgary

We’ve also joined forces with community foundations and other arts groups, creating multi-generational, multi-genre performances that highlight the rich diversity of Calgary’s choral landscape.

These collaborations remind us that music is strongest when it is shared—when choirs, communities, and cultures come together on the same stage to celebrate what unites us.
