With deep love and gratitude, Out of the Blue Chorus is proud to announce the creation of the Lawrie Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in memory of cherished member, Lawrie Stewart.

Lawrie was more than just a voice in the choir — he was a vibrant presence and a true believer in the power of community through music. His passion for choral singing and warm spirit brought joy and connection to every rehearsal and performance. Lawrie’s energy was a gift to all who sang beside him, whether it was his booming bass voice or generous laugh.

To honour Lawrie’s legacy, we proudly announce the creation of the Lawrie Stewart Memorial Voice Scholarship. Each choir season, a scholarship will be awarded to a choir member who shares Lawrie’s love of choral music and community.

The scholarship is intended to support a singer with a strong passion for making music, a commitment to building community, and a financial need.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue celebrating Lawrie’s spirit through music and community, and we look forward to carrying his memory forward in the seasons to come.

We miss Lawrie deeply, but his spirit will always be part of our song.
