A Message from your Artistic Director
I’d like to send a big shout-out to all our newest members! We’re happy to have you and welcome to the OOTB Community :)
As of this morning, we now have 82 official members of the choir. Awesome!
We hit many new musical peaks on Tuesday, which was awesome. It speaks to how we continue to grow as singers and an ensemble. I’m lovin’ it!
Absences: I’ve been asked by a few members if OOTB has an ‘attendance policy’. While we don’t have an official policy, I do always appreciate when members email me to let me know that you won’t be at rehearsal, especially if you are planning to miss multiple weeks. Every member of this choir is important, and we all contribute in unique ways. Know you are missed when not in the room!

January 23rd Rehearsal
Finish working through our parts in ‘Hallelujah’.
Start learning a ‘Down the River to Pray’ (A Spiritual) Details below.
Continue to sing through ‘carry over songs.’
NOTES:
If you haven’t printed off ‘Crocodile Rock’ yet, please do so for next week and bring it with you.
’The Storm is Passing Over’ has been re-added to the Members Area so if you need a copy of that music, please bring it for next week.
NEW SONG
Down to The River to Pray
Sheet music for this song will be available Friday afternoon - Jan.19th.
There are many great versions of this song, but have a listen to this one (it’s my favourite) HERE.
Concert Opportunity!
We have been asked to participate in the World Interfaith Harmony Week Concert here in Calgary - Sunday, February 11th, 2-3:30pm.
Below are some details about the event as well as a sign-up sheet. While we now officially have 82 voices (wow) in OOTB, I understand that not all of us will be able to sing at this event.
We will need 35-40 voices to best represent what we do and who we are as a choir for this concert. I’ve let the organizer know we will give a firm answer on our intention to perform at this concert by: Tuesday, January 23rd. ALL members are encouraged to perform - whether you’ve been with us since we started or are new to OOTB.
Please fill out the form by Tuesday, January 23rd, as this will determine if we have enough representation to perform.
This is a great opportunity for us to lend our voices to a great cause and connect with other choirs in the city with similar passions for building community.
