A note from Tyler…
It was great to be back in the room with you all making music together!
We’re sounding great, and I’m excited for the rest of the year to keep things rockin’ and rollin’.
Thanks to all who came forward to sing the solos! It was fantastic to hear everyone, and I applaud you all for doing it. I know it’s not an easy thing!
Fun bird fact…This is a Cooper’s Hawk! A Cooper’s hawk is now widespread across much of southern Canada, the majority of the United States and northern Mexico. This woodland bird can be found anywhere from a deep forest to a neighbourhood park…and I saw one the other day :)

Next Rehearsal - April 30th
We’ll start learning the great Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young song ‘Teach Your Children.’ The harmonies on this will be lovely to hear and sing together, and I’m excited to see where we can take the song!
Fun Fact: The original recording features Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead playing a pedal steel guitar.
The sheet music will be available in the Members Area tomorrow morning for you to print, and the practice recordings will be available later this week.
We’ll continue to work on specific aspects of songs and build in more fun musical details. Also, memory work!
Musical Moment
Turning Japanese
By, Brent Moore
I was away in Japan for a bit and really missed OOTB! However, I loved Japan—the cherry blossoms, the food, the fashions, and most of all—the lovely Japanese people. My new goal is to be as kind and polite as them. It’s a lofty goal, but here’s hoping!
In honour of Japan, have a look at this fun music video from 1980 by The Vapors – ‘Turning Japanese’
The pictures are a couple of travel shots I took contrasting the old and the new of this fascinating country
