A note from Tyler…
I heard great things about the rehearsal with Peter on Tuesday! It warms my heart, and we’re lucky to have someone of Peter’s talent and skill who can step in the event where I cannot be at rehearsal.
We are excited for another great week of singing! Many exciting things are coming this week, so let’s bring the juice and energy :)
May 13th Famous birthday…
Stevie Wonder! A pioneer and influence by musicians across various genres, including R&B, pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz. A virtual one-person band, Wonder's use of synthesizers and other electronic musical instruments during the 1970s reshaped the conventions of contemporary R&B. He also helped drive such genres into the album era, crafting his LPs as cohesive and consistent. Blind since shortly after his birth, Wonder was a child prodigy who signed with Motown's Tamla label at 11, where he was given the professional name Little Stevie Wonder.

Concert Promo Material & Tickets - June 7th
Our concert promotional material is now live! Please take a look at the details below.
Facebook Event Page
Here is the Facebook event page link created for ‘A Spring Concert!’
It would help engagement if all OOTB members active on Facebook could indicate their status as ‘GOING’ on the event page. To do this, you’ll have to click on the event page itself and click the ‘GOING’ button, not just the ‘Interested’ button.
Eventbrite Page
The Facebook event page and the link in the ‘Concerts’ section of the website will lead people to the Eventbrite page where they can purchase tickets. There are two ticket options: a regular Adult option and a free option for kids under 16. There will also be the option to buy tickets in cash at the door on the concert day.
You'll receive a confirmation email once you or your friends and family purchase tickets. You can download the tickets to your phone's ‘Wallet’ or save them in the Eventbrite app.
OOTB Summer Round-Up BBQ!When: Saturday, August 10th, 11-2 pm
Last summer's first annual OOTB BBQ was so great that we thought there should be a round 2 this summer! Since people’s lives and schedules fill up so quickly for the summer, we hope to put Saturday, August 10th, on your calendars.
This will be a fabulous way for our community to reconnect before the Fall and share some laughs and great food. They’ll be some games and some surprises too :)
Next Rehearsal - May 14th
We’ll continue learning ‘Teach Your Children’. I realize there has been some confusion about this song, but we’ll clear up the discrepancies on Tuesday before we continue.
The revised ‘Treat Your Children’ sheet music has been corrected and added to the Members Area. If you’d like to print a fresh copy with the changes made, please do so! Jen is working on the recordings and hopes to have them ready for tomorrow’s rehearsal!
From now until the end of the year, you can expect to sing and work on all the songs for the concert during our remaining rehearsals - focusing on building in more musical moments, expression, dynamics, and intention.
I feel it best to save learning ‘Always a Woman’ by Billy Joel for the Fall. We have so many great new tunes to focus on building, and I’m going to teach you a fun new warm-up. We want to have fun preparing and don’t want to feel overwhelmed! I’ll play it for you since it’s a rockin’ arrangement, but we’ll wait to dive into the learning for the Fall.
