Week Six Announcements

OOTB Voice Workshop New Date

Out of the Blue Voice Workshop – Date & Location Change

A reminder! Our voice workshop has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
New Location: St. Thomas United Church (our regular rehearsal spot).
Cost: $20/Member (includes refreshments, snacks, and beverages).

Make sure to mark this new date in your calendar! The extra time together will allow us to refine and add details to our songs for the December 6th concert (program coming shortly), take our performance to the next level, and explore more about our voices.

There will be an Eventbrite page (the same platform we use to sell tickets to our concerts where you’ll be able to pay using a credit card, PayPal, etc.) sent out with the next newsletter.

Male Voice Recordings Update

We apologize to the male voices singing in our awesome bass section for the delay in having these recordings available to you. Coordinating with our male singer, who lives in a different city and is recording separately from Jen (who handles all the piano and other voice parts), has taken longer than expected. But good news—Jen tells me they’ll all be ready very soon - even by the end of the week. This is a new offering this season, so your patience is appreciated as we work out details.

Next Rehearsal - October 22nd

New Song - Christmas in October!

Christmas Medley Sheet Music and Practice Audio Now Available

This year’s music for our festive ‘Bells of Christmas Medley’ is now available for you to print in the Members Area HERE. It’s a delightful and playful mash-up of some holiday favorites. We’ll start learning this tomorrow, so please print the sheet music off and have it ready. You’ll see the practice audio is also available. It’ll give you a sense of how the song sounds, but remember, as is the case with all practice audio, it’s a supplemental tool to learn your parts and not a precise replication of how we will shape the song in rehearsal and performance.

Other

  • Continue learning ‘What About Us’. We had a great start on this the other week! Have a listen to the recordings to refresh yourselves on the parts we covered.

  • Focused work on the ending section of the ‘Queen Tribute’ starting at bar 57 (top of page 9) to the end of the song (page 14). It’s right on the verge of clicking in. Again, having a listen to your parts here will help cement what you are singing :) We can do it!
