Week 9 Newsletter

November 11th, 2024

A Message from Tyler…

I hope you are all having a great long weekend!

Today, we remember those who sacrificed so we could live in freedom. We're thankful for those who gave their lives while serving, and we're thinking of those who have lost someone they love.

Lest We Forget.

Week Nine Announcements

OOTB Workshop - Saturday, November 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you are attending the workshop, please use this LINK to register. As we’ve said, it is an important time to refine our songs as well as get to know some members of the choir community we might not have a chance to interact with on a regular Tuesday!

Concert Attendance

We've recently been surprised by the number of members who won’t be able to sing at the December 6th concert. While we understand that illness and unexpected events can arise, this concert date was shared with registration details at the end of the summer. Preparing to share our songs has been a central focus of our weekly rehearsals since early September.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to participate in the concert by emailing us at info@ootbchorus.ca.

Every voice is vital and contributes to the group’s success and confidence!

Memory for Concert Songs

This fall, we’ve welcomed many new members who are still getting familiar with how OOTB functions as a choir and are learning all the songs from scratch. For the December 6th concert, we’ll aim to memorize our songs, as we did in the last two concerts. However, memorization won’t be mandatory—you’re welcome to hold your music if memorizing feels unmanageable.

We’ll also keep discussing the benefits of memorizing songs and sharing techniques to help keep your body and voice free and your eyes on the conductor, even if you’re using a binder.

We'll discuss the songs included in the program tomorrow night.
